Las Vegas Raiders: 4 early 2022 NFL Draft first-round targets
Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
We already know how much the Raiders love the pedigree of Ohio State players. Well, here is another one, and an offensive talent at that. Chris Olave is a speedster, which the Raiders seem to love, and although the Raiders just used a first round pick on Henry Ruggs in 2020, this does not mean the Raiders issues at wide receiver are over.
In fact, we aren’t even sure how productive Ruggs will be this upcoming season, especially considering he had a bit of a lackluster debut season. With a true number one receiver so far not in the midst, the Raiders are hoping Ruggs and former third round pick Bryan Edwards fit the mold, but the keyword here is “hoping.”
If the two receivers are not up to par to play at a dominant level, this is where the Raiders may be tempted to roll the dice. Depending on where the dominoes fall for the Raiders this season, Olave may not even be available when they pick in the first round, but if he is, I would expect Gruden and company to at least sniff around the talented speedster.
Olave has breakaway speed, runs crisp routes and for such a deep threat receiver, has very reliable hands. If the first team All-Big Ten receiver is available for the Raiders in 2022, do not be shocked to see his name called.
