Many feel Derek Carr is behind Justin Herbert in terms of the quarterback ranking in the AFC West. Here is why the Raiders QB will outplay him in 2021.

The hype surrounding Justin Herbert is real. The second-year quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers had a rookie year for the history books, as he threw for over 4,000 yards while setting the rookie record for most passing touchdowns (31) and most completions (396). However, is he already better than Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr?

In the two head-to-head matchups with the Chargers last season, the Raiders split with a win and loss in each column. Herbert went for over 300 yards in each game, and the win over the Raiders in their second matchup was a nail-biter in which Raiders quarterback Derek Carr left the game early due to injury.

With all of the hype comes great expectations, expectations that Herbert may surely eclipse or match. But how does the former Oregon product compare to Derek Carr?

Will he surpass the Raiders incumbent? Is he already better? Of course, these questions are all subjective, but here at JustBlogBaby.com, we feel that Derek Carr will outplay Justin Herbert this season.

Without further ado, we will look at three reasons why Derek Carr will outshine the Chargers quarterback.
