Las Vegas Raiders: 5 potential cut candidates the team could sign this summer

Ben Banogu, DE, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts selected Ben Banogu in the second round in 2019, a surprise selection to everyone at the time. Unfortunately for the Colts, this risky pick has not worked out, and Banogu has not played up to his pick.

It looks as if the Colts could be moving on from Banogu, especially considering their first two picks in the draft were defensive ends. Banogu was a raw player coming out of college that clearly needed work, and although he would not start for the Raiders, they do need pass rush depth, and Banogu would provide that on a cheap contract, as well as having the potential to form into a solid player.

Last season, Las Vegas was able to muster up only 21 sacks as a team, once again finishing towards the bottom of the NFL. Sure, Maxx Crosby and Yannick Ngakoue should be a dynamic duo coming off the edge, but this team also needs depth, and Banogu could give them some to go along with Carl Nassib, Clelin Ferrell, and Malcolm Koonce.
