Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential replacements for Marcus Mariota in 2022

Josh Rosen

Josh Rosen seems like another type of young player that did not live up to the potential, and one that Gruden would want to give another chance. Rosen has not had many chances in the NFL to actually keep a starting job, and when he has gotten on the field, he has performed extremely poorly.

With that being said, nobody has a worse start to their career than Nathan Peterman, and although we have only seen him in the preseason, he has improved a ton under Gruden. I could see Gruden being intrigued by Rosen and bringing him in to back up Carr, even though I do not believe it would be a good idea.

Rosen was once considered a top quarterbacking talent, and we all know how much Gruden loves to mold those types of players. He is still very young, has good physical skills, and if the Raiders decide to move on from Mariota, he is a cheap option to take the QB2 spot in 2022.
