Nathan Peterman

Speaking of Nathan Peterman, is it out of the question that he could rise up the depth chart next year and be the QB2 for the Raiders? Gruden has kept him around for a couple years now and it is no secret that he likes what he sees in Peterman.

Gruden has been vocal about being impressed with Peterman over the last couple of years, and he has shown the ability to be a good NFL backup when given the chance in preseason games. Sure, he has never taken meaningful snaps in the Silver and Black in the regular season, but Gruden has stuck with him, and that relationship could keep him in Las Vegas in 2022.

Peterman would be a good, cheap option that already knows the playbook and has a connection with players on the team. Call me crazy, but I believe Peterman could be the top option for the QB2 job in 2022, even if that means a significant downgrade from Mariota.
