Las Vegas Raiders: 3 position groups that could go from a question to a strength

Wide Receiver

Moving to the other side of the ball, wide receiver was a spot that the Raiders thought they had figured out last summer, especially after the Antonio Brown debacle from the previous summer. They had spent a first and third round pick on the position group, bringing in Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards, who turned heads early on in the summer.

However, due to the fact they were rookies, and going through a strange COVID-19 season, Ruggs and Edwards never really gained their footing in Year 1, and it was Nelson Agholor who stepped up to become the team’s WR1. In 2021, Agholor is with the New England Patriots, meaning the wide receiver group is a major question mark this summer, but a unit with plenty of answers.

There is of course Edwards and Ruggs returning, as well as Hunter Renfrow, Derek Carr’s favorite target on third down. In addition, John Brown and Willie Snead were brought in as free agents, so while we do not know what the depth chart will look like at this point, there is more than enough talent for this to be a solid group in 2021 and beyond.
