Las Vegas Raiders: 3 bold predictions for Derek Carr in 2021

A 5,000-yard season

Throughout his NFL career, Carr has had no problems putting up solid statistical numbers, and he has taken his game to the next level under Gruden. After not throwing for over 4,000 yards in each of his first four seasons, Carr has been throwing for that many yards yearly since the 2018 campaign, and there is reason to believe he can bump those numbers even higher in 2021.

Last season, Carr threw for 4,103 yards, setting his single-season yardage record by 49 yards, a mark he set the year before. In fact, his yardage number has gone up every season with Gruden at the helm and moving to a 17-game slate in 2021, there is reason to believe he could end up tossing for 5,000 yards.

This is a bold prediction due to the way Gruden likes to run his offenses, which is run the ball first, and then try and attack with the big play. However, Carr has an elite tight end in Darren Waller, two good pass-catching running backs in Kenyan Drake and Josh Jacobs, and if Henry Ruggs II takes a step forward, a possible long-term solution at WR1.
