Las Vegas Raiders: 5 bold training camp predictions in 2021
Nate Hobbs gets a shot in Week One
In the first few days of camp, Nevin Lawson and Nate Hobbs have seen the most action at starting slot corner, with the pair splitting snaps on the first and second defensive groups. Most likely, the Las Vegas coaching staff prefers Lawson as the team’s starting slot corner since he has much more professional experience than Hobbs.
But, for the first two weeks of the season, Lawson won’t see the field. That’s because he was suspended during the offseason for breaking the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policies. So, for those first two weeks, Hobbs will have an incredible opportunity that he needs to take hold of if he wishes to be the starter in his rookie season.
Bradley also seems to really like Hobbs’ toughness and energy, and he certainly has the talent to get it done and be a starter. It’s just a matter of actually going out and doing it.
