Las Vegas Raiders: 5 bold training camp predictions in 2021
Henry Ruggs will become the team’s WR1
This was really why Ruggs was drafted, right? He is meant to be Las Vegas’ very own Tyreek Hill. Entering the team’s 2021 training camp, it seems like his second season could be the year where he does exactly that. And why would now be any different than last year? Well, he seems to have taken every step needed to improve as a player for this season.
Earlier this week, it was reported by many that Ruggs put on about 13 pounds this offseason. This is not only great for making him stronger in 50/50 matchups, but it also helps him stay healthy. It also helps him get a lot more explosive in his breaks when running routes, which is an area where he really struggled last season.
It’s also important to remember that Ruggs barely experienced training camp last year due to the NFL’s COVID-19 regulations. So, the added muscle and a full training camp should really help Ruggs get more comfortable, grow as a player, and become Las Vegas’ top option at wide receiver.
