Johnathan Abram must improve in a big way
During his rookie season, Johnathan Abram became a star right away, being one of the must-see players on HBO Hard Knocks. In Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, he looked like the real deal, flying all over the field before getting injured and missing the rest of the season.
Entering his third season in the league, he is trying to shake off a sophomore season that was more bark than bite. Abram struggled in coverage, had issues taking the right angles, and for all the talk of him being an elite player for this secondary in the long term, he now has a ton of question marks surrounding him.
Hopefully, he can find his way, and defensive backs coach Ron Milus has said that he is talking less, and looking a lot better between the white lines. He is crucial for this defense in 2021 and beyond, and if he wants to still be a part of the long-term solution in Las Vegas, keeping his starting job, and playing at a high level is a must.
