Las Vegas Raiders: 5 musts for the defense to succeed in 2021

Yannick Ngakoue must be as good as advertised

As stated earlier, the Raiders struggled mightily to get after the quarterback last season, something that has been a real issue since the Khalil Mack trade. To make up for the lack of pass rush, the Silver and Black added Yannick Ngakoue in free agency, and he has looked outstanding since putting on the Raiders uniform.

In addition to Ngakoue, the Raiders also drafted Malcolm Koonce in the 2021 NFL Draft, and will likely move Clelin Ferrell inside. Also, Crosby continues to be one of the better young edge rushers in all of football, and both he and Ngakoue feel they could be the best pass-rushing duo in the NFL this season.

If Ngakoue can come in here and be a double-digit sack guy in 2021, then it completely changes the complexion of this Raiders defense. Both he and Crosby have the talent to be ten-plus sack players yearly, and I personally believe the two of them can combine to have more sacks than the entire team did in 2020.
