Las Vegas Raiders: 5 musts for the defense to succeed in 2021

Trayvon Mullen finally gets some support at cornerback

It is no big secret that the cornerback position has long been an issue for this franchise, but the team did have a bright spot the last two seasons in 2019 second-round pick Trayvon Mullen. Now, the franchise will be tasked with putting talent around him, and this summer we have already seen Casey Hayward step up, and Nate Hobbs look very good in the slot.

There is a lot of young talent at the position group, and we know that Gus Bradley has worked wonders with the secondaries in his previous stops. Mullen is a solid talent, and Hayward is a proven player at this level, so all eyes are on the likes of Isaiah Johnson, Amik Robertson, Hobbs, and Damon Arnette to see what they bring to the table.

Based on talent, the Raiders look better on paper heading into training camp, but we have been fooled before. There is a lot that has to go right for the improvements to be evident on Gameday, and hopefully, this is the right coaching staff to finally get this unit pointed in the right direction weekly.
