Las Vegas Raiders: 3 teams that should trade for Marcus Mariota right now

Houston Texans

We have already discussed a few reasons why the Indianapolis Colts should make a play for Mariota, with uncertainly due to Carson Wentz’s injury. However, another AFC South team is in much worse shape when it comes to the quarterback position, as it is clear Deshaun Watson is likely done in the Lone Star State.

The Houston Texans have real problems when it comes to quarterback, especially if Watson is done with the franchise, and they have to turn to Tyrod Taylor as their starter in 2021. While Taylor is a solid NFL quarterback, Mariota would be an upgrade as the starter, moving Taylor back to No. 2 where he is likely to remain at this point in his career.

Houston does not have much talent to think of on either side of the ball after getting rid of a lot of star power the last two offseason, but they do have some veterans like Brandin Cooks, David Johnson, and Rex Burkhead as weapons. It is going to be a long season in Houston, and with Mariota having experience in the AFC South, he could be a perfect fit for David Culley and his staff.
