Las Vegas Raiders: 3 players who need to impress against Seattle
With the amount of work Zay Jones puts in with Derek Carr in the offseason, it’s about time we start seeing results. Last season, we saw a glimpse of Jones’ talent and chemistry with Carr in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, when he dove to make a hard-to-catch touchdown.
After that performance, though, Jones was pretty quiet for the remainder of the season.
With the wide receiver room getting more crowded over the offseason, Jones must make an impact in the preseason if he wants to see a lot of playing time in the regular season. If he does step up during the preseason, then there is a solid chance he can have an Agholor-like season in 2021.
If we’re being honest, it feels like a breakout season for Jones is long overdue, as he was a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, after all. He did have one good season back in 2018, where he had 652 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, but he hasn’t been able to replicate the same type of production since.
So maybe this will finally be the year he does. If that’s the case, then he’ll have to start showing his talents against Seattle on Saturday.
