Las Vegas Raiders: 3 bold predictions for 2021 preseason Game No. 1

Tre’Von Moehrig nabs 1st interception

One of the more exciting young players to come into the fold this offseason is Tre’Von Moehrig, a player the team traded up in the second round to get. A standout safety for the TCU Horned Frogs, Moehrig is going to be a starter on Day 1 for the Raiders and has the talent to really make an impact in Year 1.

For the Raiders, they not only need Moehrig to be as good as advertised, but they also need the young safety next to him, Johnathan Abram to take a major step forward. The Silver and Black have been bad in the secondary for far too long, and the hope is that the young safety duo of Abram and Moehrig can change their fortunes.

Looking at preseason game No. 1, the Seahawks are likely rolling with Geno Smith in a big way, as he looks to solidify the No. 2 quarterback job in Seattle once again. For Moehrig, that should lead to some opportunities in the passing game, and I like him to make an impact right away, nabbing an interception.
