Las Vegas Raiders: 5 takeaways from 2021 Preseason Game No. 1

The third running back spot will be a battle

One huge bright spot on Saturday night was the play of the running backs, as both Trey Ragas and B.J. Emmons had terrific debuts in the Silver and Black. The duo combined for over 100 yards on the ground, and nearly five yards per carry, while both finding the end zone for the Raiders.

Both Ragas and Emmons really stood out in the game, and with Richard still out due to injury, they are going to get another chance to show what they can do in preseason game No. 2. The Raiders were able to pound the ball inside with both backs, and based on his skill set, Ragas could end up being the perfect No. 3 on this roster behind playmakers Jacobs and Drake.

Overall, this was a great first test for the 2021 Raiders, and they certainly looked more talented on both sides of the ball. It was the first preseason game, and the Seahawks did not play their stars, but neither did the Raiders, as they displayed the kind of depth this organization has been missing for some time now.
