Seahawks at Raiders: 2021 Preseason Game No. 1 Studs and Duds

Duds

Dallin Leavitt

I know I’m not the only Raider fan wondering why Dallin Leavitt makes the 53 man roster every year, but he needs to not make it this year.  The Raiders played pretty well overall on defense and only really had one long play against them in this game, and that was a 43-yard swing pass that Deejay Dallas caught and ran the rest of the way to the house.

Leavitt either had a miscommunication from the beginning of the play, or just the wrong angle, but Leavitt badly missed on his tackle, which led to Dallas scoring the Seahawks’ lone touchdown.

Matt Dickerson

A ton of players along the defensive line played pretty well on Saturday night.  Like I mentioned above, Darius Philon and Clelin Ferrell made their presence known, but players like Gerri Green, Solomon Thomas, and Malcolm Koonce were also getting some pressure on the quarterback. One who struggled was Matt Dickerson, who failed to get push all game long.

With the defensive line seemingly improved all throughout, posting depth with players like Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby starting, as well as the newly-acquired Gerald McCoy, there is a lot to like about this group. For Dickerson, he did not show much to be involved in the conversation on Saturday night.
