4 Las Vegas Raiders tumbling down depth charts during the preseason

Jaryd Jones-Smith

There was a time that Jaryd Jones-Smith was considered a future starter for the Las Vegas Raiders, but after drafting Alex Leatherwood, and Kolton Miller rounding into an elite option at left tackle, his stock is falling. On Saturday, he did not do much to help his stock, either, as he struggled in pass protection, and run blocking.

As it stands, it looks as if the Raiders will definitely go with Miller and Leatherwood as their starting tackles, and for Brandon Parker to be the first tackle off the bench. Also, Denzelle Good is a guy who could play tackle if need be, and while he is slated as a starting guard right now, John Simpson is pushing him.

Jones-Smith has the size and athletic ability you look for in a starting tackle, and is someone the team is going to take a long look at this summer. The problem is, he did not do much to help his case on Saturday, and with another bad effort, he could be on the outside looking in at a position where other options are better right now.
