Amik Robertson

During the 2020 NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Louisiana Tech cornerback Amik Robertson with the hope that he would eventually be their answer at slot cornerback. However, after sitting behind Lamarcus Joyner last season, Robertson has gotten off to a slow start in 2021, and he could be the No. 3 player at his position right now.

Nevin Lawson is penciled in as the starter right now, but he will miss the first two games due to suspension. While one would have expected Robertson to be the next man up, that is actually Nate Hobbs, who looked like a monster during the Seattle game, and I believe will eventually be the starter all season long for the Raiders.

The next two preseason games are going to be huge for all four of these players, as they look to continue to be a part of the long-term solution in Las Vegas. Players get leapfrogged every summer, and when all is said and done, there are going to be some surprising cuts when the Raiders get this roster down for the Week 1 matchup against the Ravens.
