Clelin Ferrell, Defensive Line

Clelin Ferrell was basically demoted to the second team after the team added Yannick Ngakoue this offseason via free agency. One of the three first-round picks in 2019, Ferrell has never lived up to his draft position as a premier pass-rusher in the NFL, but he is no slouch either.

Early first-round picks for defensive ends should be able to do it all; rush the passer, provide an edge, and pressure the quarterback, but that has not been the case for him. Ferrell has been solid in terms of the run game, but he just is not producing the kind of sack numbers you would expect from a No. 4 overall pick.

Ferrell is in no danger of being cut, and he will definitely be on the 53-man roster for the Baltimore game if he can stay healthy throughout the summer. He is no longer considered a starting defensive end for this team and will need to prove he deserves to be in the rotation over the next few weeks.
