Will we see Marcus Mariota?

With Derek Carr sitting out the game, and Marcus Mariota hurt, it was the Nathan Peterman show against the Seattle Seahawks, and he had a solid game for the Silver and Black. Peterman ran Jon Gruden’s offense well, got a bunch of players involved in the passing game, and got a great effort from rookie running backs, Trey Ragas and B.J. Emmons.

On Saturday, we may finally get to see Marcus Mariota in action, as he is healthy to practice this week, and would likely like to put on a show for the other 31 NFL teams. Mariota has stated that he is looking to start somewhere if he cannot do it in Las Vegas, and the Rams game will give him a chance to prove that he still can.

The Raiders got rid of Case Cookus during the first round of roster cuts, so if Mariota cannot go, you can expect Peterman to play all four quarters. My belief is that Mariota will be healthy enough to go, likely drawing the start against the Rams as the Raiders continue to sit out Derek Carr for the preseason.
