Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Rams: 3 bold predictions
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders play preseason game No. 2 on Saturday night, and here are three bold predictions for the matchup against the Rams.
As we move along through the 2021 preseason, there is a lot to like about the product the Raiders are putting on the field. Sure, they beat mostly backups during the Game 1 victory against the Seattle Seahawks, but they went up against the Los Angeles Rams’ best during scrimmages this week, and more than held their own.
In fact, the Raiders actually looked like the better team, which is saying a lot considering the Rams are a potential Super Bowl contender in the NFC. With that said, let us turn our attention to the preseason game between these two on Saturday night and lay out some bold predictions.
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Rams: 3 bold predictions
The defense holds Rams under ten points
We already know that Matthew Stafford is not playing in this game and that Sean McVay likely is not to use many of his starters at all this preseason. That could lead to another dominating effort from this Raiders defense, as we already know Nathan Peterman can run the offense, taking a lot of time off the clock.
That should lead to the defense being put in some good situations, and we saw them flying all over the field against Seattle. Las Vegas appears to be deep along the defensive line and should get push all game long, putting some inexperienced Rams players in situations they have never seen before at the NFL level.
The defense had question marks coming into the season, but they have looked very good so far, and are playing smarter football under Gus Bradley.
