Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 53-man roster prediction after preseason Game No. 2

Safety (4): Johnathan Abram, Tre’Von Moehrig, Karl Joseph, Tyree Gillespie

Safety is another position to be excited about this season, especially if Johnathan Abram can play consistent football alongside 2021 rookie Tre’Von Moehrig. Moehrig has come in and been even better than expected, and with both Moehrig and Abram in the starting lineup, the Raiders should be set at the two safety positions for years to come.

However, if Abram falters, the Raiders have the ultimate insurance policy, as Karl Joseph returns and is a former first-round pick of the team. 2021 draft pick Tyree Gillespie is also expected to make the 53-man roster out of camp, giving the Raiders more depth at safety than they have had in a long time.

Overall, the talent is definitely there for this Raiders team to make a run at the playoffs, but the injuries are starting to mount. The regular season cannot get here soon enough, and hopefully, the team can get through the San Francisco game without any significant injuries, and start to get prepared for the Baltimore Ravens in a Monday Night Football clash.
