Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 53-man roster prediction after preseason Game No. 2
Cornerback (6): Damon Arnette, Nate Hobbs, Trayvon Mullen, Casey Hayward, Amik Robertson, Isaiah Johnson
The cornerback spot has long been an issue for the Raiders, but we have seen Trayvon Mullen come in and be a legitimate player across his first two seasons. Unfortunately, 2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette struggled to be a consistent starter as a rookie last season, and fellow 2020 pick Amik Robertson was buried on the depth chart.
This offseason, Las Vegas brought in Casey Hayward, who is familiar with Gus Bradley’s system and has become a leader in the locker room. He is slated to start alongside Mullen on the outside, and in the slot could be a 2021 fifth-round pick that has taken the team by storm throughout the preseason.
Nate Hobbs is playing at the highest level of any of his teammates at cornerback, and he even nabbed an interception playing outside cornerback against Los Angeles. I believe that those three, plus Robertson, Arnette, and Isaiah Johnson make the 53-man roster for the Baltimore game, but Rasul Douglas is someone to keep an eye on as well.
