Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential FA linebackers to provide depth

No. 2: B.J. Goodson

One of the more surprising moves the Cleveland Browns did not make this offseason was letting B.J. Goodson walk in free agency. After leading the Browns in tackles last season, the team decided it would be best to hit the reset button at the position, drafting Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and bringing in Anthony Walker via free agency.

For Goodson, he still has yet to latch on to an NFL team for the 2021 season, and the Raiders could be an interesting fit for him. His price would certainly be right, and to bring in a former starter this late in the preseason would give the Raiders a player who could pick up the system quickly, and produce on the field.

Goodson is not an elite cover linebacker by any means, but he is not a liability in coverage and is a solid all-around player. The depth at the linebacker position is starting to get a little concerning with a tough Baltimore Ravens team looming in Week 1, and maybe a former fellow AFC North linebacker can come in and help the Silver and Black against them.
