Patrick Omameh – Swing Tackle
Patrick Omameh has been an on-and-off-again member of the Raiders for the last two years and has a chance to make the 53-man roster as the swing tackle behind Brandon Parker. However, Omameh was on the wrong end of a couple highlights from Rams rookie Chris Garrett, as he looked a bit lost while playing left tackle.
Thankfully for the Raiders, Parker can step in as the left tackle in case of injury to Kolton Miller, and Omameh can step in at right tackle if needed. He has primarily played guard during his career and has even started close to 60 games for six different teams at that position.
That would explain why he has not looked comfortable playing tackle in space but playing on the right side is less challenging than playing on the left side of the offensive line.
Some suspect that the Raiders could go out and find their fourth tackle after final cuts from other teams but the team seems to like Omameh and his experience. They could also choose to go with a more unrefined player in Jaryd Jones-Smith, but Omameh looks to be the favorite at the moment for that final spot.
