Jalen Richard, Running Back

Jalen Richard has been the talk of the summer, as he took all of his Raiders stuff off of social media at one point, and then had to deal with COVID issues early on. Now, Richard is battling an injury that has kept him out of action all summer long, and that could have a major impact on what running backs make the 53-man roster.

We have seen the emergence of Trey Ragas this summer, showing the ability to get tough yards, block, and actually make plays in the passing game. The Raiders also added Kenyan Drake as a free agent this offseason, bringing him in to serve as the No. 2 behind Josh Jacobs, so the room is starting to get a bit crowded.

This week, we have seen Sony Michel traded to Los Angeles, and Travis Etienne go down for the season with an injury, so running backs are certainly at a premium. Richard has a lot left in the tank and can be a real playmaker, giving him a lot of trade value if the Raiders decide they can roll with Ragas as the No. 3 in 2021.
