Las Vegas Raiders: 3 potential waiver wire additions after cutdowns
Quincy Williams, Linebacker
The Raiders recently traded for linebacker Denzel Perryman, but there is a desire out of the Raiders to add another linebacker. Morrow is injured and will start the season in injured reserve, Javin White is also likely to be out a while with a knee injury, and Nick Kwiatkoski is also playing hurt, so the team needs linebacker depth.
Cory Littleton and Kwiatkoski will be the opening day starters with Tanner Muse and Divine Deablo as the backups with Perryman.
With the lack of experience in the backup rotation, the Raiders could opt to bring in another linebacker. One option is Quincy Williams, currently on the Jaguars. Williams is a former 2019 third-round pick but seems to have fallen out of favor with the new coaching staff in Jacksonville.
Williams is a former starter who has the speed and quickness that many NFL teams are seeking in today’s game.
Williams offers the team a young player who can play in a spot start. He has also started eight games and played in 18, but his draft pedigree will likely help him latch on to a team. He is also notably the brother of Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams. Williams is a smaller player so he will likely make his impact on special teams, but would ultimately relieve some of that responsibility from Muse.
