Las Vegas Raiders: 3 big questions entering 2021 Week 1

Will the young receivers show up?

The Raiders have basically gone into a youth movement at the wide receiver position, as the top two receivers on the depth chart are second-year players in Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards. Due to injuries, and lack of familiarity with a new system, these two were not exactly the embodiment of success last season as rookies, however.

Fast forward a year later, the reigns of this offense are highly dependent on their success. Ruggs, the former first-round pick is expected to have a Tyreek Hill-esque effect on the offense, and Edwards is seen as a more complete receiver at this point and is expected to play all over the field.

It is yet to be seen if these two can truly fulfill the lofty expectations placed upon them, but hopefully, for the Raiders, their investment in them finally pays off. With the recent departure of Nelson Agholor to free agency and the release of John Brown, these two have no choice but to excel to give the Raiders any chance of a Week 1 victory.

The Ravens possess one of the best cornerback tandems in the league, so it will be a tall task for the young receivers to dominate in this one. However, according to the praise from head coach Jon Gruden and within the Raiders front office, it would seem these two are ready to finally shine, and we cannot wait to see it happen on the field.
