Las Vegas Raiders: Week 1 Keys to victory vs. the Baltimore Ravens

Get out to an early lead

When you look at the construction of the Baltimore Ravens roster, one facet is apparent. It is a team designed to control the clock with their run-centric offense fed by an opportunistic defense. Flip the script and make the Ravens play from two scores or more behind, and they are a different team.

However, from a passing standpoint, Lamar Jackson leaves some things to be desired when pushing the ball downfield through the air outside the hashes. Mark Andrews is obviously his favorite target in the red zone, but Baltimore’s wide receiver room is thin. Their 2021 first-round pick Rashod Bateman will not play due to injury. In addition, Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown lacks consistency as an outside WR.

Furthermore, Baltimore’s pass protection is also undergoing change with the loss of former starting right tackle Orlando Brown. The Silver and Black score quickly and early will lay the foundation to derail the Raven’s game plan. In conclusion, Las Vegas has the means to start the season 1-0. There is no reason why they can not do it.
