Las Vegas Raiders: Week 1 Keys to victory vs. the Baltimore Ravens
Prepare for Baltimore’s defensive pressure
The Baltimore Ravens in 2020 led the NFL with a 44.1% blitz percentage. Players may come and go in the Ravens defense, but one thing is for sure, they are going to pressure the quarterback, and it has certainly worked out in their favor, as they have been one of the best teams in the AFC perennially.
This will undoubtedly test new Las Vegas Raiders starting center Andre James. If he and Derek Carr can properly diagnose Baltimore’s pressure plays, it will make life much more bearable for the Raiders offense, one that could be explosive in 2021. Not only that, but it will hopefully reduce turnover opportunities for a very opportunistic defense.
Last season, Don Martindale’s unit was third in the league with forcing 12 fumbles. If the Silver and Black want to win, they must handle the pressure and not turn the ball over. In addition, they must stay disciplined defensively as well.
