Las Vegas Raiders: 3 keys to a second-half comeback in Week 1 vs. Ravens

The defense needs to get to Lamar Jackson

With so many weapons out for the Baltimore Ravens in this game on the offensive side of the ball, we knew that Lamar Jackson would need a monster game to win this one on the road. In the first half, Jackson did a little bit of everything, evading the pressure, and leading the Ravens to a 14-10 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Raiders have to do something more to get to him, as he has shown his elite escaping capabilities throughout. For Las Vegas to eventually win this game, especially out of the gate in the third quarter, they have to start bringing Jackson to the turf, as they have gotten pressure, but are still a bit too late.

Jackson is going to have a few more big moments in this game, and he has shown that he does not need a lot of weapons to make an impact. Across the next two quarters, the Raiders have to get in his face and force him to make mistakes, because if he continues to operate the offense the way he has in the first half, it is going to be hard to come all the way back.
