The Las Vegas Raiders kick off their second season in their new home with a primetime matchup on Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens. The game will kickoff at 5:15 PT and on Monday, September 13, 2021, in the final matchup of Week 1.

The Raiders are facing a make-or-break season under Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock and they start a tough stretch of their schedule by facing off against the Ravens. Baltimore is one of the contenders in the AFC and is looking to build off a season that ended in defeat in the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills.

Baltimore is dealing with a slew of injuries on both offense and defense but they still feature a tough defense and one of the league’s best QBs in former MVP Lamar Jackson. The Raiders’ new-look defense will be tested early and often by Jackson and his offensive weapons even with all of the injuries they have had.

On offense, the Raiders bring back much of the same personnel and there is good news with the announcement that Josh Jacobs will be playing despite an illness scare. We will also get to see plenty of superstar TE Darren Waller who was limited in training camp and did not play at all in the preseason.

Rookie RT Alex Leatherwood will make his first start in the NFL and he will be joined by the new blood at center in Andre James.

The Raiders also have plenty of new faces on defense including starting free safety Trevon Moehrig who will be making his NFL debut. We should expect to see an almost entirely new defensive line rotation and recent addition KJ Wright will be looking to make an impact straight away.

Former top-5 pick Clelin Ferrell is a healthy scratch which is surprising but could be a good sign for the depth of the defensive line.
