3 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2
The emergence of the Raiders young receivers
If we were to judge the performance of the Raiders wide receivers in the first half of Week 1, you would find it very hard for anyone to not give them an F grade. The non-existent presence of any of the receivers had quarterback Derek Carr looking lost, as he continuously looked towards tight end Darren Waller.
The predictability became apparent as the Ravens defense zoned in solely on Waller. The second half was a brand new story, as Carr started trusting his young receivers, and the young core, led by Bryan Edwards started to show its promise. Slot receiver Hunter Renfrow and deep threat Henry Ruggs finally found their footing, and the Raiders’ lethargic offense was finally able to breathe in the second half.
The dependence on these young receivers will surely boost their confidence going into Week 2, and although the Steelers have a great secondary, which kept in check the dangerous Josh Allen, Carr has more receivers to depend on than Allen does. This should be the advantage for Carr and this offense, as he has more than a few targets to look to going into Heinz Field.
Expect the young receivers to show just why head coach Jon Gruden decided to give the youth a shot coming into the season.
