Las Vegas Raiders: Studs and Duds from Week 2 vs. Steelers

Studs: Henry Ruggs III

After a relatively quiet performance against the Ravens, Henry Ruggs came out with a purpose against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was on the receiving end of the aforementioned biggest play of the game from Derek Carr but was involved in the offense even before that. Ruggs finished the day with five catches for 113 yards and made plays in the short and intermediate as well as the one big play.

The former Alabama speedster may never be the 150 targets and 100 catch receiver that some of the other players drafted after him are, but if he puts up numbers and performances like this more often then none of that will matter. We saw glimpses of this game-breaking ability last year with huge performances against the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets but the mark of a great receiver is doing this consistently.

Next week Ruggs and the Raiders get a tough test against a talented Miami secondary but he has shown that he has the speed to beat any defensive back in the NFL. He just needs Derek Carr to put the ball up and he will go out and get it.
