Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 Week 3 fantasy football Sit or Start

Start

Darren Waller, Tight End

Death, taxes, and Darren Waller. These are three constants in life if you are a member of Raider Nation. The consistency of Waller should not be overstated, as despite making only five catches in the last game vs the Pittsburgh Steelers, he still managed to collect 65 receiving yards, not great, but not too shabby either.

Constantly being double teamed by a vaunted Steelers defense in Week 2, this will not be the case in Week 3, and even with him having a pedestrian game by his standards, Derek Carr still managed to find seven different other receivers to the tune of almost 400 yards passing.

The Dolphins may force some double teams to some degree on Waller, but they won’t make the same mistake the Steelers did by implementing this on nearly every play. Start Waller and never look back when you do.

Hunter Renfrow, Wide Receiver

When it comes to fantasy, we all want that consistent 100-yard receiver, right? Well, the Raiders, outside of Waller, do not have this luxury, or at least not so far. The Raiders young receiver core has shown up the last two weeks, but only one receiver has been consistently strong in both contests, and that is slot receiver, Hunter Renfrow.

150 yards across two games does not jump out at you, but outside of Waller, Carr has targeted Renfrow the most. The star receiver of last week’s contest was surely Henry Ruggs, but of his 113 yards, 61 of them came on one pass.

Ruggs should be obtained in all contexts in terms of your fantasy roster, but starting him is still a risk. The most consistent wide receiver is Renfrow, and he should be started this week as Ruggs will likely be blanketed by cornerbacks Xavien Howard or Byron Jones.
