Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 things to watch in Week 3

Raiders defense vs Jacoby Brissett

No need to rinse and recycle the news of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa being out for the Dolphins this weekend. The current state of the Dolphins offense is that backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett will be leading his troops into Vegas.

The meteoric rise of quarterback Derek Carr has stolen most of the headlines in this very young season, but what should not be overlooked is the improvement of the Raiders defense. With a 2020 season that was one (not) to remember, the front office remade this defense, and it has so far been a significant reason for the unexpected and undefeated start.

Third-year defensive lineman Maxx Crosby has led the charge, as it finally seems after years of turmoil, the Raiders defense has finally turned a new leaf. Brissett is an experienced veteran quarterback, with numerous starts under his belt, but the experience has not led to much success.

Now, facing a defense that has shown up more than it has had its letdowns, Brissett has his work cut out for him. Look out for the defensive front of the Raiders to torture Brissett and the Dolphins backfield, especially considering that the Dolphins offensive line is literally one of the worst so far this season.
