Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 Surprises in Week 3

The play of Peyton Barber

The Las Vegas Raiders were once again without star running back Josh Jacobs in this one, as he missed his second game in a row. Coming off his first Pro Bowl season, Jacobs gutted it out in the Week 1 victory over Baltimore, but since then, he has yet to make his return back to the starting lineup.

In Week 2, Las Vegas struggled to run the ball against Pittsburgh, but in Week 3, they found their footing behind third-string running back, Peyton Barber. Barber had a bunch of timely runs for the Silver and Black, made his presence felt in the passing game, and overall, looked like a real weapon for this offense.

All told, Las Vegas finally got over the 100-yard mark on the ground in this one, racking up four yards per carry, and finishing with 140 rushing yards. Barber ended his day with 111 yards on 23 carries, while also hauling in three passes for 31 yards, a great display for someone who was sorely needed against Miami.
