Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders: 3 Surprises in Week 3

Daniel Carlson shows he is human

For the better part of the last two seasons, Daniel Carlson has not looked human as the kicker for the Las Vegas Raiders. He has blasted game-winners, clutch field goals, and when it comes to kicking extra points, he has been downright automatic in the Silver and Black.

On Sunday, he showed that he was human against the Miami Dolphins, and to be honest, it was downright shocking. Carlson missed an extra point in the fourth quarter that would have given the Raiders a 12-point lead, which meant that the Dolphins would have been down three scores instead of two.

That ended up rearing its ugly head, as the Dolphins did come back from the now 11-point deficit, scoring 11 straight and sending the game into overtime. In the end, Carlson was the hero, blasting a 22-yard field goal for the win, but for a moment in time, it looked like his missed extra point was going to come back to be the difference in a tough home loss.
