Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders review: Studs and Duds
Studs: Peyton Barber and the Raiders rushing attack
The Raider rushing attack is still not where we hoped it would be but we finally have our first 100-yard rushing performance of the season. If you had bet that it would be Peyton Barber that would be the first Raider running back to achieve this, you probably made a nice chunk of change this weekend.
Barber was a late addition to the team off of the Washington practice squad and has shown that he perhaps deserves a long-term role on this team even after Josh Jacobs returns. Gruden and Mayock have a decision to make when Jalen Richard returns from injured reserve as Barber is making a great case for a roster spot.
The veteran back broke off a few big runs in key situations including a 27 yarder that essentially decided the game in overtime. Barber finished the day with 142 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown and has shown that he can be relied on until Josh Jacobs is healthy.
He very nearly had a disastrous fumble on the goal line but since Alec Ingold was there to recover we won’t hold it against him.
