Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders review: Studs and Duds
Studs: Derek Carr
Derek Carr continues his elite level of play after putting on another masterful performance against a tough defense. The Dolphins just came off a game where they held Josh Allen to under 200 yards passing in a tough situation and they came out firing against the Raider offensive line.
They forced Carr into a tough throw that lead to a pick-six but there appeared to be miscommunication between him and tight end Foster Moreau.
After spotting Miami a 14-0 lead, Carr and the offense came out firing and would have essentially put the game away had Daniel Carlson made the extra point to put Las Vegas up by 12 instead of 11. Carr engineered six scoring drives including two in overtime in another high-pressure situation.
The veteran QB finished the day going 26-43 for 386 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He completed passes to 9 different receivers including several deep shots to Henry Ruggs and Bryan Edwards as he marched the Raider offense up and down the field.
Carr extended his lead atop the NFL passing board with an absurd 1203 yards and will lead the league for another week unless Dak Prescott has 600 yards on Monday night. He is playing perhaps the best football of his career and we are seeing what he can do when he has a competent defense and some talented weapons around him.
