Las Vegas Raiders vs Miami Dolphins: 2021 Week 3 Offensive Grades

Wide Receivers

Outside of running back, this was one of the pleasant surprises for the Raiders offense in the victory Sunday. Going into the season, the concern was that Derek Carr had no reliable targets outside of Darren Waller. The young receivers on this roster have surely quelled any talk of this recently, as they continue to become a major force for this offense.

Carr is not leading the league in passing yards by mistake.

The play of Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards is starting to become a reliable and talked about commodity among the league. Out of the 386 passing yards Carr threw for on Sunday, 244 of the yards were spread out among this trio.

The Raiders were criticized before the season started as not having a true number one receiver, or any reliability among this core of receivers. Well whoever said this, is probably looking pretty foolish at this point. Carr is off to the best start of his career after eight seasons, and although his play has looked downright remarkable, these young receivers are playing a major part in the success.

This was continued on Sunday, and their talents were once again on full display and a major force in the victory.
