Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers: 3 things to watch in Week 4
Will Madd Maxx continue to eat?
The Chargers struck gold in the 2021 NFL Draft when they were able to select left tackle Rashawn Slater with the 13th pick. So far, he has lived up to the lofty expectations, and maybe even surpassed them.
The other side of the offensive line is another story. Starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga is injured for the Chargers and on injured reserve. That leaves the starting job to Storm Norton.
The 27-year-old Norton has been a career practice squad player so far in his career, the Chargers are his fourth NFL team. With only three starts to his name, the jury is still out on what the Chargers have in Norton. But the storm will be coming for Norton in this contest, as he has the job of blocking one of the top defensive end performers this season in Maxx Crosby.
The third-year defensive end has made life hard for every quarterback he has faced so far, and now going up against an inexperienced offensive lineman, Crosby could have himself a day on quarterback Herbert.
The Chargers may use some double teams at times to combat the pass-rushing ability of Crosby, but they will not be able to do this constantly as the Raiders now have quite a formidable defensive front. Crosby should be watched at all times in this contest as he may be facing one of his easiest targets in this one.
