4 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders will beat the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4

Familiarity is Key

Los Angeles is in a completely new system, a 3-4 defensive system implemented by new head coach Brandon Staley. This has completely shifted the roster around and provided new positions for some of its top players such as Joey Bosa moving from defensive end to outside linebacker.

Even with the new system, this is basically the same roster from a season ago, and who was a coach with the Chargers only a season ago? Gus Bradley. The newly hired defensive coordinator for the Raiders has played a major role in turning around a defense that last year was one of the league’s worst.

If anyone knows about the defensive players on this Chargers roster, it would be Bradley. He coached the Chargers defense from 2017 to last season, and he helped mold the talents of Bosa and safety Derwin James. Football is a game of not only skill, but preparation, and I am sure Gruden has been getting an ear full of knowledge about this Charger defense from Bradley.

The defensive coordinator knows fully about the strengths and weaknesses of this defense, and although these are things that do not show up in the box score, trust me when I say that, familiarity with players and their tendencies will surely play a role in victory here.
