Raiders defense must stop these key Chargers playmakers
Keenan Allen, Wide Receiver
The Los Angeles Chargers arguably possess the NFL’s top wide receiving duo in 2021. Spearheading the formidable duo is the 9th year veteran Charger wideout, Keenan Allen. Per Pro Football Reference, Allen currently ranks top ten in the league in terms of receptions, with twenty-one on the year.
He is Los Angeles’ top receiving target and is Justin Herbert’s go-to option when a first down is needed. The Bolts star offensive weapon ranks in the top five in first downs with sixteen. The Las Vegas Raiders must do their best to neutralize his big plays on critical downs and in the red zone.
Mike Williams, Wide Receiver
While Keenan Allen is a star NFL wide receiver, his counterpart is impressive this season. The 27 y/o Mike Williams is having a career season in 2021. Williams ranks in the top ten in the NFL in the following offensive categories:
- Receiving touchdowns
- Receptions
- Receiving yards
- Receiving yards per game
- Touchdowns
As you can see above, he is easily Los Angeles’ most explosive offensive player, and the Las Vegas Raiders must limit his big-play ability on Monday night.
