Las Vegas Raiders: Recapping the AFC West in Week 4 of the 2021 NFL season
Raiders and Chargers Battle in Los Angeles
The Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers faced off on primetime for the outright division lead after Denver’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Chargers were able to take care of business at home against the Raiders, coming away with a 28-14 victory.
In this game, the defenses came to play, as the defensive lines made life very uncomfortable for both quarterbacks in the first half. The Chargers took a 7-0 lead on a four-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert to Donald Parham, and that was all the scoring until the second quarter when the Chargers put up 14 more points.
Down 21-0 at halftime, the Raiders came storming back thanks to two third-quarter touchdown passes by Derek Carr. Carr was on fire during the third quarter, but the magic ran out, this after the Raiders decided to kick a 50-plus yard field goal in the fourth quarter that Daniel Carlson missed.
In the end, the Chargers were the better team on both sides of the ball, and now already have wins against the Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs on their resume this season. They look legit, but so do the Raiders, so this division is certainly going down to the wire this season.
