Las Vegas vs Chicago Bears: 3 Raiders to watch in Week 5

Derek Carr

Derek Carr struggled heavily against the Chargers on Monday. In a season that has so far seen the eight-year starter putting up historic numbers, he finally cooled off in a big way in the last matchup.

In fact, if not for a fast second half, he was on pace to have one of the worst games in his career. The Bears have a stingy defense overall and are only allowing a tick under 240 passing yards per game. This is a bit worrying for a Raiders team that is so heavily dependent on the pass as a key to victory every week.

The struggles of Carr are not all his fault, the patchy offensive line was on full display, and it is hard to tell, but it seems that the magic offensive line coach Tom Cable usually strikes with swapping in and out offensive linemen, may indeed be running out.

According to PFF, only offensive tackle Kolton Miller had a grade above 65.

The pressure on Carr was noticed from the offset, as outside linebacker Joey Bosa and co. were in the face of Carr constantly. Carr will need to bounce back in this one for the Raiders to pull out a victory here, especially considering this offensive line is shaky at best and has so far been very bad in opening up holes for the run.

Keep an eye on Carr to return to form, despite being in the face of huge adversity against a game Bears defense.
