Las Vegas Raiders: 2021 Fantasy Football Week 5 Start or Sit
Sit: Josh Jacobs
The Bears’ defense is ferocious, but the large share of their success is in stopping the pass. Not saying they have succumbed to stopping the run this season, but it is not exactly a strong point. However, the Raiders have an offensive line that seems to be completely on the decline.
The offensive line is in such flux, that rookie starting right tackle Alex Leatherwood seems to be eventually even getting a new position at guard. The Silver and Black have had one rusher reach the 100-yard plateau this season, and it was not even starter Josh Jacobs.
The third-year back is a between the tackles type of back, and this has been the issue for the two games he has appeared in so far. With only 74 combined yards on 23 carries, these numbers would suggest Jacobs is struggling heavily, and to some degree he is, but his offensive line has let him down on nearly every carry.
As soon as Jacobs touches the ball, he is mobbed by multiple defensive linemen at every stop. The talent of Jacobs is there, but the talent of his offensive line to provide holes for him is not. Sit Jacobs until this offensive line proves it can provide even somewhat competent run blocking for the Pro Bowl back. Jacobs will consistently be a candidate you do NOT want to start in Fantasy as things remain.
