Las Vegas Raiders studs and duds: Derek Carr struggles in Week 5 loss
Stars
Yannick Ngakoue
He did not have the perfect performance on Sunday, but he was head and shoulders a cut above the rest on the defensive line. This shows in the stat sheet as well, as Ngakoue was the only Raider with a sack in this contest, in fact, he had two on rookie quarterback Justin Fields.
In terms of pressuring and getting to the young quarterback, Ngakoue was the best and only consistent threat on the Raiders defense on Sunday.
Hunter Renfrow
He did not set the world ablaze with his performance, but he was the best of the receiving bunch, he caught six of his eight targets, and led the team with 56 yards receiving. His elusiveness was also on display Sunday as he forced five missed tackles.
He did not have an incredible game on offense, but honestly not one player on the Silver and Black did, and he was the best of the bunch.
Denzel Perryman
It is hard to fathom the Raiders’ best linebacker has been one they acquired right before the season. But once again, just as in previous games before, Perryman was the best linebacker in this contest. He is currently leading the NFL in tackles and had eight defensive stops in the run game.
He also was not targeted in the passing game on Sunday and his consistent play was one of the lone bright spots in the two-way misery on Sunday.
