Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos: 3 things to watch in Week 6

How Do Derek Carr and the other captains lead the team

Derek Carr is and has always been, the leader of this Las Vegas team. His presence as a leader isn’t limited to the offense, either. Carr has an impact on players in every position group, as he is constantly spewing words of encouragement and instructing teammates on how they can improve.

His power as a leader can be the main reason why the team pulls itself together this week and gets a win against Denver.

Carr will also have to carry the offense. He’ll work closely with Greg Olsen, who Carr has known since his rookie season. Olsen will likely call most, if not all, of the offensive plays, but don’t be surprised if he gives Carr a lot of freedom in this game, especially at the line of scrimmage where Carr is notorious for pre-snap changes.

Carr, who knows the offensive playbook front and back, has to be the spark that the team will need to win and get the season back on track.

As for the other captains, expect Yannick Ngakoue and Maxx Crosby to take on an even bigger leadership presence. All season, they have been motivators on the field and on the sideline. Now, they’ll have to be motivators for the team almost every day, taking on an even greater commanding role now that the head coach is gone.

If these two, as well as the other captains, step up alongside Carr, then this team might just be okay.
